Wahundura High School is a boys boarding school in the newly established Mathioya district and formerly in the Murang’a North district in the Central Province of Kenya. It is located about four kilometers from Kiria-ini Town which is along the Nyeri- Othaya-Murang’a-Nairobi highway. In our immediate neighbourhood are schools like Kiria-ini Girls, Kiria-ini Mixed, Kamacharia and Kamune secondary schools. It is situated in a high altitude tea and coffee growing area which is generally wet for most of the year.
It is two-stream school with a student population of over 350 students and plans are currently in top gear to make it a three-stream school beginning 2010.
The school was started in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Mt. Kenya Central. It is firmly rooted on strong religious beliefs and embraces students from all religious backgrounds and accords them all necessary support to nurture an all-round, focused learner. The students regularly attend prayers and other religious activities depending on their faith as per the school program.
